Callie is Two!

 Callie turned 2 on August the Seventh!  My, how the time has flown. So cliche. I know.  We celebrated at Ingleside with a smaller than usual (though not small) gathering.  I served lunch - all of our favs..

I didn't order up a fancy cake - I just threw a little cupcake party and made these myself - I cheated.  Funfetti (because it's our FAV. and Ukrop's icing. Again FAV)

My girl.. who now talks..and goes potty..and has a big girl bed..and is two years old.  Who on August 7, 2009 entered this world and still I think it was yesterday!

Back to the cupcakes. YUM!

She loves her some Uncle Willie... but let's not let him get too close or she runs and screams - repeatedly - it's a game.

Boy fight..or best buds? while Cal wathces glares on.  Li & Saw as Cal has declared them.

Helping hands for the birhday girl from Colt and El.  She says their names each and every day.  At least a few times.

Quake Shake

This just has to go down in blog history.  We were shook up today.  By an Earthquake in VA.  Largest one on the East Coast since 1944 and the only one I recall.  It struck at 1:51 pm eastern time and was  5.8 magnitude on the ricter, epicenter 5 miles from Mineral, VA (not far from Richmond.  And we felt it in Mathews, Newport News, Hampton and up and down the East Coast my friends.

So where was I.  Callie and I were sitting outside of Hudgins Post Office where we had just done our Postal business and chatted with the Postmaster.  We were now reading the mail.  The car was a-rumbling-a-round and I kind of thought the engine was doing silly things.  Until the Postmaster comes running out...then I knew something more had happened..so there we have it.  An Earthquake. 

Cell phone reception was down for a while as I tried to make calls to everybody...and everyone was ok.  Glad to have Cal with me safe and sound!  Wow!  And to boot.. Hurricane Irene is on it's way...I'm telling her to head out to Sea!

Rut Roh..

I'm sorry blog..it's been too long.  And since the last time I posted, we have been busy.  Here's a brief bulleted list of some things past & going on in no real order:

* We took a girls trip to Savannah, GA
* Callie turned 2
* Kristen visited
* We've attended eons of baby showers, birthday parties, and a wedding
* We are making a eensy weensy change to our house that packs a lot of punch
* Dadda and Momma are building a DIY project to be revealed right here on this blog...it's for Cal's room
* Callie got her ears pierced...and then one hole closed up...BIG.BUMMER.
* Callie goes to the potty 75% of the time and wears big girls panties 80% of time (yes this does pose a little bit of a problem) Hah, but no really potty training has been a, er, flush of a toilet; er, she's done really well!!  And it has all been on her own accord and all at the ripe ole ago of two.
* The in-laws are setting up camp in Nags Head, NC (WooHOO!)
* We leave for Penick Nags Head Vacay in 1.5 weeks..the last one in a rental

The list runs on..and I really want to post more in depth on some of these like pics from our trip, Callie's Birthday, our house projects...so stay tuned.
