In it's Path

It's been just over one week since the tornadoes ripped throught the counties of Gloucester, Mathews, and Middlesex counties.  And their paths were devastating - National Weather Service tracked these tornadoes all over the coast - closest by, there were 2 related deaths in Gloucester and 11 in Bertie County, NC.

Where were we?  At Mom's off Indian Rd in Gloucester.  While there was hard rain and heavy winds, we never would have known.  The news footage was scary.  Areas hardest hit were Page Middle School, Hickory Fork Road, Glen Roy Estates, North End Bridge, and the main drag in Deltaville.  Power outages, debris everywhere, homes completely destroyed, the middle school completely lost - very tragic.  Emergency workers and volunteers ran calls all night long and for days to come.  As usual, the communities are pulling together and picking up the pieces.  I feel so blessed as this twister path came too close for comfort.

And, for today I wish you a Happy Easter!  We are off for fellowship and egg hunts with family.

  1. Every time I see pictures of Zoar it breaks my heart a little more. So sad but hopefully it will be re built and be even better than before. I'm sure all that went there will miss it though. I hope you had a wonderful Easter. Love ya girl!
