Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Belated Memorial Day!  It snuck up quickly and went by even faster..so fast, I only snapped a very few shots.  But I captured the best of the memories right were they need to be - in my heart/soul/mind.

On Friday, the ever-anticipated Chessie arrived and we grilled out at Dad's with family.

On Saturday, Emily had us all over to surprise Josh for a little going away party.  They were recently married and he is soon to deploy to serve our country in Iraq (Thank you Josh and all soldiers - true tribute to Memorial Day).  When he returns home sometime around January, they will have a new baby - so big things to celebrate!  They are glowing in LOVE <3 and you can see it all around them...

On Sunday, we kicked off the BOATING season.  PAVED PARADISE cruised to New Point Island for it's first time this summer.  Onboard and along-side were great friends and family and we all soaked up the sun, many of us too much.  Coolers were loaded with Skippy, Chix Salad, Fresh Squeezed Orange Crush, Shrimp Louie, Fruit Salad - just to mention a few all done up right. We headed back to the Glebe where Gordon and I hosted an impromptu cookout made possible by many.  It was lovely..and as happens to my children when we have gatherings, there was an emergency.  This time the WEIM.  Jezabelle had a cut from a oyster shell that we were well aware of, but it was now 24 hrs later   swollen threes times it's normal size... this brings us to Monday.

On Monday, Gordon and I wake early. He heads to the emergency vet and half a grand later comes home with meds for Jezzy's infection, inflamation, and pain.  Needless to say, she misses boating for the first time and we head out to the Island again.  Callie takes along a friend today.  And I even snapped some pics of two tired sun-kissed girls, Callie and Abby.  Our day ended in the pool at GiGi and Buddy's with some of the girls.  But our night still hadn't ended...we had to make the most out of Memorial Day Weekend.  We had a family dinner at Ruby's and spent all the time we could loving on Chessie Baby.

We brought in the SUMMER Penick Style!
